The level of noise entering a person’s ear when hearing protection is worn is approximated by the difference between the A-weighted environmental noise level and the NRR.
EXAMPLE:
1. The environmental noise level entering the ear is 90 dBA
2. The NRR is 23 decibles (dB)
3. The level of noise entering the ear is approximately equal to 67 dB
NOISE REDUCTION RATING (NRR)
The Environmental Protection Agency has selected the NRR as the measure of a hearing protector’s attenuation capability. WarBird makes no warranties as to the suitability of NRR as a measure of actual protection from noise since protection depends on the sound level, duration and fit. NRR may not be a good indicator of protection against impulse noise. We highly recommend users wear ear plugs under the ear muffs for added protection in high noise environments.

I recently purchased the Warbird intrepid BT. It has been an impressive piece of gear and a welcome addition to my inventory. As a retired SWAT officer I have had the privilege of using some very equipment. This ranks right at the top. Functionality, practicality and durability are the hallmarks of good equipment and this product hits those and more. Comfort for all day usage and low profile to fit protective headgear while being able to manipulate long guns and other equipment. The blue tooth is a great touch as well. These ear muffs are awesome. The fit and feel is great. One of the most comfortable over the ear muffs I have used. The bluetooth capability is super handy and great for odd jobs like moving or any tractor work. On the range they perform flawlessly and help enhance audio when needed and cancel out shots nicely. The last thing I will say is that I really appreciate the durable case that come with them. All around some great ear protection.

I wore the intrepid BT headphones while working with a log splitter all day and they worked very well. Playing music or not these headphones are hands down the most versatile headphones I’ve ever wore. You can use them for work and recreational purposes.
