Attenuation Data (Tested in accordance with ANSI Specifications S3.19.1974)

NOISE REDUCTION RATING (NRR)

The Environmental Protection Agency has selected the NRR as the measure of a hearing protector’s attenuation capability. WarBird makes no warranties as to the suitability of NRR as a measure of actual protection from noise since protection depends on the sound level, duration and fit. NRR may not be a good indicator of protection against impulse noise. We highly recommend users wear ear plugs under the ear muffs for added protection in high noise environments.

I am on a constant search for better hearing protection. I use plugs and muffs combined for almost everything, especially rifles. In classes I'm exposed to 100K-plus rounds a year of 5.56. That's not as much as the people that make their living every day on the range but it's a lot when you consider that one single round unprotected could cause hearing damage. Sometimes I have to stand close to a student and I can literally feel it in my teeth. So-- I take earpro seriously. Electronic earpro is critical to range safety, being able to hear commands. I'm still experimenting with electronic plugs but in the Warbird Intrepid BT I have found the best of all aspects: 1. Noise reduction.... due I think to the supple material used in the earcups, and whatever is behind them, 2. The electronics are easily located when wearing the unit, and easy to understand. They function consistently. 3. The transmission of range sounds, like commands and conversations is excellent. The unit plays well with my electronic plugs. 4. I've had no issues with the unit running out of juice. At the end of the day I plug it in to recharge, super-easy. ALL of my battery powered units are problematic with batteries going dead but also falling out from poorly-designed battery covers. 5. Overall comfort level is top-notch. 7. The included case is good to have, you know how sometimes at the end of a range day you want to just throw all your stuff into the car and get out of the sun or the cold and into some food. That case offers a lot of protection AND I can leave it unzipped just a little so I can charge them while in the case.

I kinda dig it how Warbird is a new brand and far as I'm concerned totally jumped ahead of some of the more established brands that seemed comfortable in their position of "we're all that's out there".

Impressed!!

I normally wear the high DB reduction Pro Ears Gold since I am on the range on a daily basis and want to do everything I can to protect my hearing. The Pro Ears also adjust up high enough to fit my small noggin so they stay sealed on my rifle side ear when I’m shooting long guns, but my head was aching from having my eyepro stems mashed into the side of my head so I ditched the Pro Ears and ran the WarBirds the following day and they were extremely comfortable, my head did not feel like it was being flattened. The ear cups also adjust high enough, in other words, the head band allows the ear cups to raise up high enough so the ear cups stay sealed on my small head when shooting rifles. On some ear pro, the stock of my rifle pushes up on the bottom of the gun side ear cup and breaks the seal. The WarBird Intrepid ear pro was comfortable throughout the 8-hour range day, the loud noise suppression worked great and voices were easy to hear. I’ve had gel ear seals on other ear pro, but they weren’t as comfortable as these are. I use plugs and muffs every time I’m at the range and was shooting rifles with muzzle breaks under an overhang, and rotating out with other shooters doing the same at the Pin Shoot all day for a few days in a row. At the end of the day, my hearing was all good, the little bit of ringing I have was nice and quiet despite the repeated loud days.

Warbird headset was just what I was hoping for. It’s super compact, easy to operate while I’m wearing it, Bluetooth hooked right up, very comfortable even after a couple hours of waring them. Money well spent!

Crystal clear sound quality

I appreciate the sound quality. Everything sounds crystal clear and they are comfortable for hours of wearing. I wore them to the gym and got few compliments, wear them outdoors on walks or mowing the lawn.. Bluetooth capability is top notch. I foresee purchasing more for family as gifts. Thank you WarBird

My favorite ear muffs for the money!

I have worn ear muffs from most brands on the market now, and the Intrepid BT muffs are by far the most comfortable and feature packed for the money in my opinion. Great protection and hearing enhancement for on the range, and fantastic sound quality when I want to listen to music while using the tractor or lawn mower. For the money, I don't think there is anything better.
